St. George's Welcomes Jeff Powell as Director of Music

Greetings to my brothers and sisters in Christ at St. George's!

I feel very excited to serve among you as your new Director of Music. I look forward to growing together with you and to raising our voices in praise to our Lord in worship for years to come.

I have lived in Dayton for over twenty years, where I have led the Dayton Opera Chorus and conducted operas at Memorial Hall and the Schuster Center. When I first came to Dayton, St. George's was my church of choice, after "shopping around." Three years later, St. Paul's in Oakwood brought me onboard as their Director of Music. After twelve years of service there, I have come back to St. George's. Many friends are still here; I look forward to making new friends as well. Some of you may remember me from the "Cornerstone" services, which I helped to start up. Now I am blessed with playing your wonderful Fisk organ, as well as continuing to build on the rich choral tradition you have here. It feels good to come home!
