Convocation 2019: Becoming Beloved Community Together

On Saturday, May 11, our diocese will come together in fellowship for a day-long celebration of our Becoming Beloved Community vision at Convocation 2019: Becoming Beloved Community Together. Everyone is welcome!


Activities are planned for adults, youth and children, and free childcare will be available for the youngest members of the community.


This fun, free event will be packed with:

·     A call to action from the Rev. Canon Stephanie Spellers, the Presiding Bishop’s Canon for Evangelism, Reconciliation and Creation

·     Two sessions of engaging workshops

·     Interactive stations open throughout the day

·     Opportunities for dialogue

·     Community building

·     Age-appropriate programming for children and youth

·     Free lunch!

·     A diocesan-wide Eucharist and Confirmation service



Plus: Youth retreat


Youth in grades 6-12 are invited to Procter on Friday, May 10 for an overnight retreat to grow in faith, have fun, build relationships and explore beloved community together. Youth can register for the retreat at


Please note: Youth do not need to attend the retreat to attend the convocation, and they do not need to attend the convocation to come to the retreat. Registering for the retreat is in addition to registering for convocation.

10-11:15 a.m. Keynote speaker and table conversations

11:30-12:15 p.m. Workshop Session 1

12:30-1:30 p.m. Lunch and fellowship

1:30-2:15 p.m. Workshop Session 2

2:30 p.m. Eucharist and Diocesan Confirmation service


Children's Community

Children ages 4-11 (and their parents) are invited to join us in the Big Red Barn for stories, crafts and a variety of age-appropriate activities.

10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.


Youth Community

Youth in grades 6-12 are welcome to engage in any part of Convocation. There will also be a specific “youth tent” for any youth of the diocese to relax, have discussion, charge phones and play games. 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.



Free childcare for infants and toddlers (through age 3) will be available in the Procter Center beginning at 9 a.m.
