Betrayal in the Garden

Passage:Mark 14:42

Preacher: Calvin Lane

On this Maundy Thursday our service ends in silence and confusion. We extinguish the Vigil candle with words from the Gethsemane scene.... Rise let us be going; my betrayer is at hand. Betrayal is a central part of the great Biblical narrative, especially but exclusively on that night when Jesus was handed over to sinners. And betrayal also seems to be connected to gardens. What does this mean for us as we come to the table to receive grace and mercy?
