Crucified with Christ

Passage:Galatians 2:15-21

Preacher: Ben Phillips

Galatians 2 gives us as rich and concise a picture as you will ever find in Scripture of the proper distinction between the Law of God on the one hand and the grace of God on the other. It is of utmost importance that a Christian be able to understand the difference between God's Law and the Gospel. For in the Gospel a righteousness is revealed that is not self-evident to humans, and is different from other forms of righteousness that we are readily familiar with. Paul's presentation of these doctrines serves as a very appropriate backdrop to the drama of our Gospel lesson today in Luke 7:36-8:3, where we see law and gospel playing out in 'real time', and the fruit of rightly understood grace is faith and great love.
