Passage:Genesis 27:1-33:20

Preacher: Ben Phillips

Series: The Essentials Series

Category: Bible Study

In this next section of Genesis we focus on the life of Jacob, the younger twin son of Isaac. Jacob is a major figure in the Old Testament. He is renamed "Israel" by God, and his twelve sons grow to be the nation of Israel, which bears his name. Jacob is a crafty and odious character, yet to him the covenant promises of God pass and are preserved. We shall study the account of his theft of his brother Esau's inheritance, and a later scene in his life where he wrestles with God, and event which foreshadows the Incarnation of Jesus.
