Reliable Apostles: Reliable New Testament

Passage:1 John 5:9-13

Preacher: Ben Phillips

Series: The Apostolic Witness - Easter A.D. 2015

We hear and see much today about the New Testament regarding its authors, its transmission through the centuries, and ultimately as to whether it is reliable. The New Testament is the witness and teaching of the apostles preserved for us, their witness to Jesus Christ. Because our faith is not based on mere personal, subjective, inner emotional experiences but rather on claims in history (either Jesus actually died and rose again, or he didn't) then we must be prepared to examine the reliability of our sacred Scriptures, and when we do, despite much media hoopla, we can reasonably conclude that the New Testament is not only reliable, it is the most reliable document from the ancient world second to none.
