The Feasts of the Lord, Part 4 - Weeks

Passage:Leviticus 23:15-21

Preacher: Ben Phillips

Series: Feasts of the Lord

This week is part 4 in our ongoing series, and focuses on the Feast of Weeks. This feast occurred 50 days after the Feast of First Fruits, and thus is often called Pentecost. It marked the beginning of the summer wheat harvest, and part of its observance required loaves of bread to be made from the first wheat harvested and presented in the Temple. In addition, provisions for the poor were to made. This as a Feast centered on gratitude and the resulting generosity for all the the Lord had already provided. But how does all this anticipate the work of the Messiah, and what does it mean for us today?
