The Gift and the Consequence

Passage:Acts 11:1-18

Preacher: Ben Phillips

Today we are observing the Feast of St. George (April 23rd) our patron saint. George was a Roman soldier who lived in the 3rd century and who was martyred for his faith during the Great Persecution in 303 AD. His faith in Christ, while a free gift by the grace of God, brought with it consequences, especially from the outside world and the empire. Similarly, for St. Peter in our reading from Acts 11, there were a number of internal consequences to his faith in Jesus. In this sermon we will look at the external and internal consequences to the free gift of salvation in Christ.
