Parish Life

Here's a snapshot of a few of the many events and activities that enrich the life of our Community

Second Sunday Supper

On the second Sunday of every month we gather for an all parish 'pot-luck' style dinner at 6:00pm in the Parish Hall. Bring an entree or side to share, all ages welcome, and we always have a few kid friendly items provided. Friends and guests welcome, this is a casual meal, no agenda, just a chance to chat, catch up, meet new people, and enjoy some great home cooking. In the summer months you may bring something to grill on our outdoor grill! Second Sundays for the rest of 2016 are: March 13, April 10, May 8, June 12, July 10, August 14, Sept 11, Oct 9, and Nov 13.

Third Sunday Lunch

On the third Sunday of the month during the Spring and Fall we gather for a family-friendly lunch following the 10:30 service.  Food is often pizza or sub sandwiches and, much like God's grace, lunch is free!  This is a wonderful chance to have fellowship and relax, particularly for our younger families who have a harder time getting to other events.  Lunch is held in the Undercroft.  Come and join us!

wednesdays @ stgeorges

Our Wednesday program in Lent 2016 focuses on "Reading the Bible for all its Worth."  Potluck supper will be at 6:00 pm in the parish hall.  At 6:30 we will have a program for adults / youth in the parish hall and Godly Play for children in the undercroft.  Check out the sign-up board in the Welcome Lounge.

St. George's Day - Sunday, April 24, 2016

Our patron saint was a Roman soldier in the late 3rd century who converted to Christianity and was martyred for his faith on April 23rd, 303 AD.  In honor of our patron, we observe the feast of St. George the Martyr on the Sunday closest to that date.

This year we'll observe St. George's Day on Sunday, April 24 and we have a special guest scholar and preacher, Dr. Garwood Anderson, professor of New Testament at Nashotah House, an Episcopal seminary in Wisconsin.

Dr. Anderson will preach at the 8am and 10:30 services and lead our adult forum at 9:30.  He is joining us as part of our parish-wide study, "Mark for Everyone" and his theme in both his teaching and preaching will be the element of story in Mark's Gospel.

The Annual Parish Picnic Saturday, Sept 10.

The Annual Parish Picnic will be held Sat, Sept 10 at 5:00 pm on the front lawn of the Rectory. Don't miss the festivities!  Please bring a dish to share, St. George's provides burgers, hotdogs, and brats! Fun games for the kids. No cost to picnickers. Please sign up to help in the Welcome Lounge, and list the dish you plan to bring.
