Maundy Thursday Service 7pm
Maundy Thursday Eucharist with foot-washing liturgy at 7:00 pm.
Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper, which is the institution of Holy Eucharist, also known as the Lord's Supper or Communion. Maundy is derived from the Latin word for "command," and refers to Jesus' commandment to the disciples to "Love one another as I have loved you."
This beautiful service includes the ceremony of the washing of feet (following in Christ's example and command in John 13:1-20), and the Stripping of the Altar. The service concludes in dramatic silence and darkness, in anticipation and preparation for Good Friday.
