Calvin Lane
Associate Rector
The Rev. Dr. Cal Lane is our associate rector. Cal is married to Denise Kettering-Lane and they have two kids, Daniel and Elizabeth. Cal was ordained priest in the Diocese of Louisiana in 2011, where he served his first call. He joined our staff in 2014. In addition to sharing in pastoral care and leading worship, Cal's ministry focuses on families, walking alongside our parents to form disciples in worship, education, service, and fellowship. He coordinates with volunteers to plan our education ministries, our Youth fellowship, retreats, and mission trips, our Christmas Concert & Live Nativity, and our Vacation Bible School. He also takes a lead role in our communications and media. There's never a dull moment!
Originally from North Carolina, Cal is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and Nashotah House Theological Seminary. Cal also has a PhD from the University of Iowa and is the author of two books on the reformation. He has taught for colleges and seminaries and, from 2018-2024, he served on the General Board of Examining Chaplains, the body that helps assess candidates for ordination in the Episcopal Church. Cal is currently the Editor of Covenant: The Online Journal of The Living Church. In 2013 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and in 2022 he held the Meeter Fellowship at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Cal also is delighted to serve as Assistant Scoutmaster for his son's troop in Centerville.
