Casseroles of Hope

February 18, 2024 9:00am

“If you give some of your own food to those who are hungry and to satisfy those who are humble, then your light will rise in the dark, and your darkness will become as bright as the noonday sun.” Isaiah 58:10

Casseroles of Hope was founded to feed the hungry in the neighborhoods in which they live. Founded in April 2022 by a couple and their neighbors in partnership with Hope House Mission in Middletown, OH. This community-driven ministry now provides casseroles for meals served regularly to Family Promise, Missionary Society of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, and Franklin First United Methodist Church. Last year nearly 20,000 meals were served. Participation ranges from individuals, businesses, churches, civic groups & organizations in Carlisle, Centerville, Clearcreek Twp, Dayton, Franklin, Kettering, Miamisburg, Middletown, Monroe, Springboro, Trenton & Waynesville.

On Sunday, February 18 from 9am- 1pm, we will have an intake of frozen casseroles. Sign-ups will be in the Welcome Lounge on Sunday, February 4 and Sunday, February 11. At that time, you will receive your casserole pan and recipe. DO NOT BAKE THE CASSEROLE – FREEZE BEFORE BRINGING TO CHURCH.  There will be coolers available outside of the main doors for drop off. If you would like to participate, but cannot be in attendance on 2/18, we will make arrangements for a pickup at your home the week prior to February 18.

We hope you will consider involving your whole family in the preparation of this meal, or perhaps combine your efforts with a friend or another parishioner and share in the fellowship this might bring.

If you have any questions, please contact Anne Larkins or Jean Tarr.
