Fall Project Day
Our annual Parish Fall Projects Day will be Saturday, Nov. 8 from 9am - noon. Many hands make light work, so please reserve that day for fun and camaraderie while accomplishing several project around the campus. We will meet in the Parish Hall for coffee and bagels while we match people and their skills with projects. Some projects involve physical strength (laying sod) while others (planting bulbs) do not involve great strength. Please dress appropriately for the weather and for working in muddy conditions. Also, it will be helpful if you bring tools you are comfortable in using, such as hoes, rakes, shovels, loppers, and containers.
St. George's grounds have been improving thanks to our dedicated Garden-Keepers and periodic project days to help with the more physically demanding tasks. Plans are being developed that will:
- Lay sod in several areas along the Education Wing and Business Office (strong volunteers needed!)
- Plant small trees and bushes
- Plant annuals and perennials
- Move mulch
- Separate hostas and iris bulbs
- Cut honeysuckle
- Plant grass seed
Other projects could be added if additional needs are identified and we have the people to complete them. If you can help, please indicate on the sign-up sheet in the Welcome Lounge or contact Frank Gentner 937-672-0169.
