The Altar Guild is a group of men and women who help prepare the church for worship -- ensuring that bread and wine and the right vessels are ready for Communion, putting out the correct altar coverings in the seasonal colors, and preparing the lector's stall with the day's readings. Members of the guild also maintain vestments, altar linens, and other liturgical appointments, such as vessels, processional crosses, torches, etc.
