At the Right Hand of God the Father

Jesus' Ascension is not simply a character exiting stage right (or perhaps stage up).  It's a central part of God's redemption of his whole beloved creation, a redemption that begins by drawing human nature up out of death (Easter) and to the right hand of God the Father (Ascension).  When he's taken from our sight, he still promises that he is with us always!  That means that wherever he is, we who've been baptized into him are with him already.  This should bring us a comfort beyond words, as he mediates for us even at this very moment.
