God's triumph over all our failures

Our faith is not an escape from the hard realities of this world; the Gospel isn't "chicken soup for the soul."  However, neither are we about to overcome all the world's ills with our plans, the error of what was once known as the "social gospel."  No, God's victory comes through our failure.  We neither shun the one who is different (who may have voted differently than we would like) nor do we trample over the same.  We walk the way of the cross -- because only through the cross is resurrection.
