The Exodus of Jesus Christ
The Last Sunday after the Epiphany is a hinge in the year between the Epiphany season and Lent. We've faced into the Epiphany question for weeks now, "Who is this Jesus"? And now we get to the climax: Jesus is revealed to be the God of the Covenant in the flesh. And notice that Moses and Elijah (symbolizing the Law and the Prophets) are discussing his departure.... the literal translation is EXODUS. As we come down the Mount of Transfiguration and head to Mount Calvary, how does that help us see more clearly Christ's work for us?
